Edit* Happy Birthday Edie! Your grace and faith have touched me deeply. I pray God's continuing provision over you and your family. Patty
It’s amazing how tightly knit the blogging community is…I laugh and cry and rejoice and mourn…with women that I have never met face to face…
This week a couple of blogs brought me to tears…
The first was this post by edie over at life in grace…the video tribute to her family and her honest faith after a fire destroyed her earthly possessions rocked me to the core.
The second time was this sweet post over at Girl.Inspired. Not because of how adorable the project for her little girls turned out (which it did) but by the fact that she used her good fabric…to make it.
Growing up with a mom who sewed clothes for me and my dolls, it was only natural for me to do the same for my girls. I always used leftover scraps or fabric given to me, saving my best fabric for “grown up” sewing…The same is true of paper projects and even the “good dishes”.
This young momma has it right…
Use your best stuff on your most precious possessions. Both could be taken from you at any moment.
Don’t save the good stuff for someday…someday is now.
I made this bag (McCall's M5598) and card for my sister's birthday...and yes, I used my good stuff.
I'm linked up to Amylouwho for Friday Sew and Tell and to CityCrafterChallengeBlog challenge #37...
Beautiful bag and card, Patty. You are so right...we should not save the "good stuff". I learned that the hard way when some of the "good stuff" I had been holding on to had to go in our garage sale.
I will visit both of the blogs you mentioned.

Oh my goodness, Patty! The bag and card are absolutely beautiful!!! They cordinate so pretty together!! My daugher keeps stressing to not save the best but to use it everyday with the ones we love...never know what tomorrow will bring! I have been trying to do just that! Was brought up differently but this philosphy certainly makes more sense!! :D
Hope you had a wonderful blessed Christmas!
