It has been a while since I spent a leisurely Saturday morning with my coffee planning my day. It feels nice...
I've finished my quiet time, worked on my bible memory verse...I've joined Beth Moore's memory team, committing to learn two verses a month, that means 24 verses by the end of the year! I'm one of those who always says I can't memorize scripture, half the time I'm lucky to remember my own name and phone number. Maybe it's another turning fifty thing but I want to test that theory and really commit to this. I figure even if I don't get all 24, I will get some and I know the truth of all them will remain, even if not word for word. It will also provide exercise for the muscle between ears.
I have my weekly cleaning to do today...I've still have a few Christmas decorations to put back in the attic...I'm going to tackle my food pantry, actually plan a weekly menu and do the grocery shopping. The hubby and I have a few errands to run a little later and we're thinking about catching True Grit at the movie theatre. I have just a couple of pages left on a love journal I'm making for someone...my favorite one yet...so hopefully I can spend a little time tonight in my studio...
All in all a pretty ho-hum day...Sounds just about perfect to me!
The photos are of the red and white quilt I gathered fabric for some time ago. It was a Christmas gift to my sweet sister in law.
Memory Verse 1 - "Do not let this book depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do everything written in it then you will prosper and succeed in everything you do." Joshua 1:8
I'm joining amylouwho for Sew and Tell...
Red and white are just so cheery together! Love the ricrac trim. I'm not a memorizeing scripture kind of girl either. I had hundreds memorized in highschool, 50 or so new one's each year for at least four years. But now I recognize them when I hear them, but that's it. Good luck with your goals!

Hi Patty!
I love love your red & white quilt with the adorable rick-rack! My mom used to make my little sun tops with rick-rack as a little girl ...so I love that kind of trim!!
I didn't think I could memorize very well either until I went through my divorce 13 yrs ago and realized I needed His words and truth embedded in mind to get me through the most wretched time of suffering! I spent many nights not being able to sleep trembling in fear and it was only His word and quoting over and over again His precious truth that got me through those long dark, sleepless nights!! ...And now I am happy to say, I LOVE memorizing His Word and it comes much easier knowing if I ever go through a horrible trial again where I need His Word again non-stop, I have a bigger reserve to draw from!! :D
I love ho-hum days too! :) Today was just that for me!! It felt to have a very relaxing day!!

Patty,
I hopped over here on a recommendation from Carolyn's blog "Cottage Sunshine" as she encouraged her readers to join in memorizing 2 scripture verses per month. Memorizing is difficult for me, too, but I know that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!"

P.S. The red quilt is beautiful!
