My mom mentioned that I live my list like a bucket list…trying to cram in as much as possible before I run out of time.
It was just an off handed remark but I realized she’s right and it really has me thinking about ways I can slow down and enjoy the whole process of living life to the full without all my self imposed deadlines and expectations.
I work a full time job outside of my home so I really want to learn to enjoy my down time…to learn how to just…breathe.
I’ve been so blessed…I don’t want to squander anymore time missing the joy God intended for me.
Slowing down and enjoying life…truly a simple pleasure.
Blessings, Patty
Such good advice, Patty. I could use a little lesson in slowing down too. Knowing you work full time, I am amazed at how much you get done.

Good words indeed.
We can all take a lesson here, and just slow down a bit more to 'see' the Lord in all the wonderful ways He reaches out to us every day!
Thanks..and God bless you.

I just told a friend yesterday that I have become very selfish with my time. I used to volunteer for everything from civic groups to little league, but after so many years of doing that, I've realized that I need time just for me now. To be able to relax and breathe and be in the moment is a wonderful thing. I don't like those days when I feel like a hamster on a spinning wheel. No is definitely a part of my vocabulary now; setting boundaries and only be involved in things that matter or with people who emit joy. :) Have a terrific day! Tammy

Your mother knows you very well.
And knows what is best for you.
Wise mom, wise daughter to take her advice.

Patty, what a powerful message in this post. It should be posted worldwide! Living slowly isn't always possible, but I think we make it harder than it has to be, simply because we get in the habit of go-go-go. This is beautiful, and so is that quilt.

You have a very wise mother and a listening heart. It's a pretty powerful combination when used together.
You are right to slow down.
I love that you called your simple pleasure "just breathe". Time for you to kick the bucket list.

A mom - and a job - my mom was the same for many years - this is something only a mom could do. That's why God made you. And how there is any down time at all to slow down - I don't know. But I just prayed for you to be able to find it, enjoy it, and have Him in and through it.This was so good to read. Thank you for writing it.
God bless you and keep you – and all of yours Patti.
